05/15/2020: Due to the space required by the State mandated social distancing, Lake Quonnipaug will not be open until further notice. The parking lot will also be closed.
Jacobs Beach will be open with limited capacity. Once capacity is reached, there will be no access to the beach. A digital sign will be at Covenant Point at the split of Old Whitfield and Whitfield St that will indicate when the beach is at capacity. There will be staff monitoring the park for safe social distancing. People will be able to purchase season passes this weekend at the beach. Credit cards are the only method of payment being accepted. In addition, passes can be purchased through the Parks and Recreation website. Until further notice, there will not be lifeguards at the beach.
GUILFORD CARES During this time of “Stay Safe, Stay Home” in Connecticut, Guilford Parks and Recreation Seniors Program, in coordination with Guilford Interfaith Volunteers, Guilford Social Services, Guilford Cares and the Ethan Miller Song Foundation is implementing a program to deliver food to the homes of seniors and those who are immunocompromised. During this difficult time, staying home is in your best interest so let your caring community help.

3-14-2020 — COVID-19 Message from Matt Hoey, First Selectman — The Town of Guilford will be shutting down public access to the Community Center and the Guilford Free Library. At this point, the closings are for an indefinite period of time and we will re-evaluate this decision as appropriate. The only scheduled activities/meetings that will take place at the community center will be those associated with governmental functions including Board and Commission meetings.
The Guilford Parks, Recreation and Seniors Department invites you to join the community by participating in the many programs and services we offer.
Become involved and stay active with our programs, classes, and trips provided for all ages. The Parks and Recreation Department also maintains various facilities and rooms available for reservation, and has many parks and beaches for Guilford residents, as well as those of surrounding communities to enjoy.
